Free Screening of Switch

  • Switch, the acclaimed documentary featuring Dr. Scott Tinker, examines global energy challenges and prospects for the future. Nonpartisan yet revolutionary, the film unites diverse audiences in a shared understanding of energy. Tinker explores coal to solar, oil to biofuels to outline a path to our energy future that is as surprising as it is practical.

Earth Day Stream Cleanup

  • Meet at Microtel Inn & Suites Buckhead, Atlanta, GA
  • Please join the North Fork Connectors in celebrating Earth Day by cleaning up a section of the North Fork of Peachtree Creek. The North Fork Connectors is a nonprofit organization, connecting people and places along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek. This site has a steep bank and lots of trash, and is appropriate for those participants physically prepared for this type of terrain. Children may participate by helping to sort recycling. Earth Day Canoe Trip

  • Saturday, April 19, 2014 (1pm - 4pm or 5pm - 8pm)
  • Chattahoochee Nature Center, Roswell, GA
  • Take advantage of two different opportunities to enjoy a quiet paddle along the cliffs and through the backwaters of the river. We will discuss both the natural history of the river and the work being done today by the Chattahoochee Nature Center and other organizations to protect it into the future. Join us as we paddle through the newly green trees and blooming flowers of spring in the company of migrating birds and mammals taking advantage of the changing season.
